The formation of the Northern Lights Chamber Choir was inspired by the encouragement of Margot Hewitt, a teacher and administrator in the Shuswap School District, who passed away in January 2009. Margot had extensive choral singing experience and recognized in Steve Guidone a gifted choral director. It was her dream to see the creation of a first class chamber choir in Salmon Arm. Although Margot did not live to sing in the Northern Lights Choir, her memory and her dedication to excellence lives on through the choir members and the dream they are pursuing together.
